Frequently Asked Questions
Parking cars and Bicycles
No, Comic Art Hotel does not have a parking area. It is possible to park in the streets surrounding the hotel though, as long as there is enough space. Between 9am and 23pm, this is paid either in cash or by card at the parking meter. Depending on the parking zone, one can park for a maximum of 3 hours (red zone) or 5 hours (yellow zone).
The nearest parking lot is Parking Ramen. Which is a 7-minute walk to the hotel.
A good alternative are the other underground public car parks. Via this link you will be able to check which parking still has spaces available. (Link is only available in Dutch)
Via this link you will be able to consult the parking rates. (Link is only available in Dutch)
Yes, it is possible to park your bike either on our courtyard or in one of our warehouses. Please do notify us in advance.
To improve the quality of air, Ghent’s city centre or the area within the R40 is a low-emission zone.
All recent Belgian or Dutch cars do not have to register, but polluting cars do. If it’s a rental car, this should’ve already been taken care of. As of all the cars from other countries do have to register.
Polluting vehicles that do not fulfill the admission requirements are no longer allowed to enter the zone. Most parts of the city center are located in this zone so if you’re planning to move around by car (even just to drop off your luggage and then find a parking) we’d recommend you to always check your vehicle before coming to Ghent.
Complete the test and find out whether your vehicle can automatically enter the Ghent low-emission zone, which is usually the case. You can do the test via this link.
No, but there are quite a few charging points in the city of Ghent and we have two available upon request at our sister hotel Hotel Harmony, only 5 minutes away by foot.
You can easily rent a bike…
– at the Fietsenambassade, which is located right behind Sint-Baafs cathedral.
– at the train stations (Gent-Sint-Pieters, Gent-Dampoort, Drongen, Merelbeke and Wondelgem). Here you can rent a so-called Blue-bike.
– via Dégage. With this app, you can participate in bike sharing: electric bikes, folding bikes and cargo bicycles.
– at various locations in the city you will find Donkey Republic’s orange sharing bicycles, Dott’s blue electric share bicycles, BAQME’s electric share cargo bicycles and Bolt’s green electric share bicycles. You borrow these bicycles via the apps of the various providers. Afterwards, you return the bicycle to one of the many fixed parking spaces.
Facilities
Our hotel has no gym facilities, but there’s a Basic-Fit only 5 minutes away by foot, near the Korenmarkt.
Given our central location, with a lot of restaurants within walking distance of our hotel, we do not have a restaurant.
Our hotel has no swimming pool.
It is certainly possible to hand over your luggage at the hotel, we will be happy to store it. This is also possible if you have checked out and want to leave your suitcase at the hotel while exploring Ghent some more!

Our hotel also has two rooms with adapted toilet and shower facilities for wheelchair and walker friendliness. Please ask our reception staff about the availability of these rooms.

At a fully flexible rate, the amount will be debited from your account 48 hours upon your arrival.
With both rates, it is possible to cancel your reservation free of charge up to these 48 hours before arrival date. Less than 48 hours before the date of your arrival (starting at midnight), you will be required to pay for the first night.
The hotel door closes between 23:00 and 00:00, but it’s always possible to enter with your room key by scanning it at the green door right next to the big porch. If you have not yet checked in or do not have a room pass yet, you can always ring our doorbell.

Rooms
Almost all rooms have a King bed, however, some rooms have a Queensize bed. Please let us know if you have a preference for which one.
Yes, two of our rooms have a terrace equipped with recliners. These are the Exceptional Terrace or the Family Terrace room.
Our hotel has one family room for 2 to 4 people that is connected to a Dalton room for 2. We always try to assign groups or families to nearby rooms if the chosen room types allow this.
All of our Family rooms have two-person sofa beds in them that can be made. We wouldn’t recommend these for adults or long stays though, since they are not as comfortable as our regular beds.
In the Dalton Twin category, we have three rooms that are big enough for us to place an additional single bed in them. Please check the availability of these rooms with our reception staff before booking your stay.
All the rooms with a view have the word ‘view’ in the name of their room type.

– In the Blaarmeersen recreation park, besides walking in nature, you can even swim in it.
